An M3U file is a plain-text list of stream URLs with a name, logo and category for each entry. IPTV providers usually give you a single M3U or M3U8 link containing your whole subscription. Paste that link into Webstream and it becomes a browsable library.

What is Xtream Codes?

Xtream Codes is an API many IPTV providers expose alongside their M3U link. Instead of one enormous playlist file, it lets an app request categories and titles as they are needed, which makes large subscriptions load much faster. If your provider gave you a server URL, username and password, you have Xtream Codes access.

Should I use M3U or Xtream Codes?

Use Xtream Codes when your provider offers it, since it loads on demand and stays quick no matter how big the subscription is. Use M3U when that is all you have. Webstream supports both and lets you switch between saved sources.

No. Webstream is a player only. It does not host, store, provide or distribute any streams and ships with no channels. Every title comes from the IPTV subscription you configure.

Which streaming formats are supported?

HLS (M3U8), raw MPEG-TS live streams and on-demand MP4. Containers a browser cannot play, such as MKV and AVI, are remuxed on the fly, and Dolby Digital audio is re-encoded so AC-3 and E-AC-3 soundtracks are not silent in Chrome and Firefox.
